About the position

The Software Engineer Specialist is responsible for providing high-level consulting services to clients, designing, planning, and supervising the implementation of complex, large-scale system projects. This role involves reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems, as well as assisting in supervising the daily activities of project team members. The position requires expertise in full-stack UI development and knowledge of banking domain technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-level consulting services to client personnel, advising on complex issues involving new regulation, technology, or system functionality.
• Maintains project estimates and project management timelines for multiple major projects.
• Verifies completeness and accuracy of specifications for multiple major projects to be estimated.
• Determines programming requirements for multiple major projects, including product updates and conversions.
• Researches and designs system modules, program enhancements, and modifications to existing programs or modules.
• Creates documents to communicate complex technical information to audiences of all levels.
• Conducts research and documents findings and recommendations using analytical problem solving.
• Provides client support, training, testing, and vendor relations.
• Develops technical designs that meet system objectives and minimize operational impact.
• Maintains and develops online and batch application programs.
• Codes programs that interface with multiple applications.
• Trains new employees on all aspects of an application or system product.
• Develops complex procedural language routines.
• Provides applications development and support, utilizing troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
• Monitors, measures, and optimizes utilization of hardware, software, and telecommunications components.
• Responsible for software installation and maintenance, may act as project leader.
• Develops and implements a disaster recovery plan.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a related area.
• 7-10 years of experience with 6-8 years of full life cycle development experience.
• 5-7 years of programming and system design experience in financial services or a related industry.
• Experience with UI Full Stack technologies including React, Angular, JavaScript, Node.js, Java/J2EE, SQL, ORM frameworks, PostGres, and AWS Cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of banking domain is preferred.
• Experience working with Identity Providers, SAML federated services, and OIDC frameworks.
