About the position

The Jenbacher Gas Engine Mechanical Engineer position at Prismecs involves the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Jenbacher J616-101 gas engines and associated equipment. The role requires a strong engineering background, problem-solving skills, and expertise in gas engine technology, contributing to the company's mission of transforming energy solutions globally.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site assessments and prepare for engine installations.
  • Install Jenbacher J616-101 engines and associated equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and project specifications.
  • Ensure all installations meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning checks and tests.
  • Start-up and commission Jenbacher J616-101 engines, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on Jenbacher J616-101 engines.
  • Diagnose and repair engine faults and malfunctions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of ancillary equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and engine performance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members.
  • Assist in the training of junior technicians and operators on the operation and maintenance of Jenbacher engines.
  • Stay updated with the latest technical information and advancements related to Jenbacher engines.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Ability and willingness to work in rotation shifts, including holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
  • Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Jenbacher gas engines, particularly the J616 model.
  • In-depth knowledge of gas engine mechanics, control systems, and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic and monitoring software for gas engines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols and standards.
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • CMMS system knowledge and experience.
  • Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Knowledge.
  • HSE General Basic Knowledge. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18001 (a plus).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification in gas engine maintenance or related technical fields.
  • Experience with emissions testing and compliance.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and other industrial control systems.
