About the position

The Aircraft Support Technician at JetBlue Airways Corporation is a vital role responsible for executing the interiors maintenance program of the aircraft. This position involves a range of duties focused on the inspection, repair, and replacement of components related to the aircraft interiors. The technician will work primarily during the overnight shift, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The role requires collaboration with qualified personnel to modify and repair cabin interiors, ensuring that all work meets the high standards set by JetBlue. In this position, the technician will be tasked with inspecting, servicing, testing, and repairing various aircraft and cabin components. This includes performing or assisting in the disassembly, lubrication, cleaning, and servicing of aircraft interiors using the appropriate tools, chemicals, and equipment. Accurate completion of required paperwork is essential, following the procedures outlined in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM). The technician will also need to review and interpret online aircraft manuals to ensure compliance with maintenance protocols. The Aircraft Support Technician must be prepared to handle other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to the dynamic environment of aircraft maintenance. This role is critical in maintaining the safety and integrity of JetBlue's aircraft, contributing to the overall operational excellence of the airline.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, servicing, testing, repairing, modifying, removing and replacing aircraft and cabin components
  • Performing or assisting in the open up/close up, disassembly, lubrication, cleaning, repair and servicing of aircraft and cabin by utilizing appropriate tooling, chemicals and equipment
  • Completing required paperwork accurately using procedures set forth in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM)
  • Reviewing and interpreting online aircraft manuals
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development Diploma (GED)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and tool familiarity
  • Ability to work primarily overnight shift
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communication
  • Ability to frequently crawl, bend, kneel, climb, stoop and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue's insurance standards
  • Ability to remain alert to moving vehicles, aircraft and situational awareness
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems
  • Ability to drive tugs, trucks, taxi aircraft, lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor and/or other maintenance vehicles
  • Airframe and/or Powerplant License
  • Prior Aircraft maintenance experience
