About the position

The Jewelry CAD Designer at Shyne Jewelers is responsible for creating technical drawings and CAD models for jewelry manufacturing. This role involves collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet manufacturability standards and supporting development initiatives through effective communication and project management.

Responsibilities

• Create technical drawings for components by translating photographs, designs, and 3D scan models for jewelry manufacturing.
• Review designs and aesthetics with key counterparts in manufacturing to create CAD models that meet manufacturability standards.
• Coordinate CAD drawings for sample fabrication to support development initiatives.
• Champion best practices in process improvement for manufacturing ability.
• Coordinate CAD designs and development of product models using Rhinoceros/Matrix CAD software.
• Create all needed CAD files for project sizing and variants.
• Establish and monitor individual timelines, ensuring adherence to overall project timelines and accurate completion of projects.
• Identify and communicate potential barriers to meeting completion timelines as soon as they arise.
• Responsible for updating workflow tracking documents and reporting on overall project status in various documents and face-to-face meetings.
• Communicate effectively to keep the team updated on project status, issues, and concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or GIA certification in a related design field, or comparable work experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in jewelry manufacturing and CAD design tolerances.
• Proficient in Gemvision Rhino/Matrix software and Keyshot or VRay.
• Proficiency in the Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
