About the position

The Jewelry/Operations Specialist at Fred Meyer Jewelers is responsible for upholding the highest standards of operational efficiency and compliance across our stores. This role primarily involves optimizing processes and procedures while closely monitoring and reporting compliance issues. The specialist will be cross-trained in multiple areas of the department, allowing for flexibility and support when needed. As part of the operations team, the Jewelry/Operations Specialist will engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall success of the department. This includes collaborating with team members to ensure that customer service standards are met and exceeded. The specialist will also be responsible for providing timely coaching, guidance, and feedback to other associates, helping them excel in their roles and meet key accountabilities. Regular communication with merchandising, distribution, and operations personnel is essential to maintain alignment and support departmental policies and procedures. In addition to operational responsibilities, the specialist will assist in the administration of company policies and procedures, monitor the results of assignments or projects, and provide regular written updates to management on current procedure initiatives. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to new business challenges as they arise. Responsibilities

  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Act in a supporting role for stores, following up on the procedures of both Fred Meyer Jewelers and Fred Meyer stores
  • Provide timely coaching, guidance, and feedback to help others excel on the job, meet key accountabilities, and strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem
  • Assist with administration of company policies and procedures
  • Monitor the results of assignments or projects
  • Maintain open communication with merchandising, distribution, and operations personnel
  • Provide regular written updates and present to management on current procedure initiatives
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Assist in supporting departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum - High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively in a team-based environment
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures and organizational structure
  • Ability to prioritize/multi-task while providing accurate/on-time results
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information
  • Ability to work weekends and travel independently
  • Proficient knowledge of financial statements and budgets
  • Ability to find new avenues of approaching tasks
  • Ability to accept new business challenges
  • Ability to be resourceful with systems and information available
  • Ability to delve into new areas outside of one’s comfort level
  • Ability to lead effectively
  • Desired - Associate Degree
  • Extensive knowledge of jewelry store processes and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, MapPoint, Visio, or like applications
  • Thorough knowledge of the technology used in the store
