About the position

The Jewish Community Center Sonoma County (JCC So Co) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Film Festival Program Manager to oversee the Jewish Film Festivals, which are bi-annual events held in the Fall and Spring. This position is hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work, providing flexibility to the right candidate. The Film Festival Program Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the festival, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees and participants alike. This includes recruiting and managing volunteers, overseeing film selection, and handling publicity and marketing efforts. The successful candidate will also be tasked with managing the festival's budget, fundraising efforts, and donor relations, as well as negotiating with film distributors and collaborating with theater management and streaming platforms. The JCC So Co is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive Jewish community, and the Film Festival Program Manager will play a crucial role in achieving this mission. The ideal candidate will have a love for Jewish films and culture, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to maintain a big-picture perspective while also focusing on the details necessary for successful event execution. Responsibilities

  • Recruit, work with, and manage Film Festival committee volunteers and collaborate closely with the committee chairperson.
  • Oversee film selection for the festival.
  • Manage all aspects of the festival budget.
  • Handle publicity and marketing for the festival.
  • Manage fundraising efforts and donor relations.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service for festival attendees.
  • Negotiate with film distributors for festival screenings.
  • Collaborate with theater management and streaming platforms to facilitate screenings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions, and holiday observance.
  • Good working knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good soft skills: ability to engage, train, motivate, collaborate, and direct a team of volunteers.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
