About the position

The Configuration Manager/Technical Writer at HII's Mission Technologies Division will support the Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center (JITTC-N) in Nellis AFB, NV. This role focuses on establishing and supporting configuration management processes, creating and updating documentation, and ensuring the effective operation of the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) for mission testing and training. The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to document and manage network and systems effectively.

Responsibilities

• Establish and support configuration management processes for JITTC-N.
• Create and update documentation, manuals, and SOPs to support JITTC-N's mission.
• Analyze proposed changes in product design and coordinate modification records.
• Develop and maintain continuous documentation of product implementations and modifications.
• Work closely with project teams to understand project requirements and support their efforts.
• Identify and implement configuration management processes and recommend improvements.
• Create and maintain the program Configuration Management Plan.
• Ensure version control of software, hardware, and documentation.
• Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
• Organize and support recurring Configuration Control Board meetings.
• Coordinate with customers and subcontractors to gather technical content and merge documentation.
• Perform configuration status accounting and support audits to verify requirements compliance.
• Participate in joint stakeholder IPTs and team meetings.
• Package, duplicate, and deliver release products to multiple fielded sites.
• Develop, organize, and write design documentation, procedure manuals, and technical specifications.

Requirements

• 6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a Master's degree; or High School Diploma and 10 years relevant experience.
• Ability to define and implement manageable configuration management processes.
• Proficient in the use of configuration management tools, including JIRA and GitLab.
• Familiarity with media duplicating tools and software.
• Ability to write system engineering reports, manuals, and presentations.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Excel, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with technical teams including Subject Matter Experts, Developers, and Engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• Three years of experience in establishing and maintaining consistent product performance.
• Active or current DoD Top Secret SCI Clearance.
• Experience in Joint Simulation Environment (JSE).
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
