About the position

HII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Database Engineer to support integration efforts on the Modeling, Simulation, and Training environment at the Joint Integrated Training and Tactics Center - Nellis (JITTC-N). This role involves providing on-site support for the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center and assisting in the expansion of training capabilities across various military facilities. The Database Engineer will work with a team to ensure seamless IT operations, manage complex systems, and support advanced training capabilities for military personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Execute integration efforts on the Modeling, Simulation, and Training environment at JITTC-N.
  • Provide on-site M&S support for the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center and Air Combatant Command.
  • Establish and deliver advanced tactics, training, and test capabilities for government personnel.
  • Assist in the integration of multiple complex JSE based JITTC-N simulators and advanced JSE Battlespace enclaves.
  • Manage and maintain system licenses, updates, patches, and associated hardware/software.
  • Create and administer virtual machines, configure network devices, and maintain active directory.
  • Support configuration management by creating and maintaining standard operating procedures and system checklists.
  • Maintain large GPU arrays, data storage, backups, and configure servers and network devices.
  • Provide system administration support for Tactical Local Area Network Encryptors, firewalls, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems.

Requirements

  • 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or 13 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server integration, Windows Server, Windows .Net, and web/application servers.
  • Current Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support customer requirements.
  • Active or current DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with C4ISR and remote sensing capabilities integration.
  • Familiarity with both Microsoft and Linux based Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and auditing processes.
