About the position

The JJYS Case Manager position at Salt Lake County involves working with youth who have complex behavioral problems. Responsibilities

  • Oversees and works closely with high risk/violent youth with complex behavioral problems.
  • Assesses client physical, mental, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans.
  • Conducts individual, family, or group therapy sessions in accordance with the established treatment plan.
  • Identifies and applies appropriate security, safety, and control intervention techniques.
  • Provides career guidance including alternative treatments and rehabilitation equipment.
  • Supervises youth with complex behavioral needs.
  • Writes court reports, parole summaries, treatment plans, and supervision standards.
  • Acts as an expert witness and gives testimony in court cases and/or hearings.
  • Leads or functionally supervises staff, delegating work assignments and monitoring quality of work.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience working with troubled youth or a combination of education and experience to equal six years.
  • Ability to pass the Integrated Crisis Response (ICR) intervention program within 90 days of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in supervising staff or teams.
