About the position
The Emergency Department Tech at Trinity Health is responsible for assisting physicians and providing exceptional care to patients with various medical conditions. This part-time, per diem role involves performing basic nursing care, documenting in electronic health records, and communicating effectively with registered nurses to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document in the patients' electronic health record (EHR).
- Provide basic nursing care such as activities of daily living (ADLs), collecting routine specimens, and monitoring vital signs.
- Perform procedures and treatments including EKGs and point of care testing.
- Apply and monitor patients' responses to restraints and provide constant observation.
- Execute tasks as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
- Communicate routinely with the Registered Nurse and report any findings or concerns immediately.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills to identify problems and seek solutions.
- Educate patients and family members about the care being provided.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks.
- CPR/Basic Life Support certification required (American Red Cross preferred, American Heart Association accepted).
