About the position
The Job Coach position at Devereux PA Children's Services involves working in a supportive school environment to assist young adults in transitioning from school-based programming to community and vocational skills. The role emphasizes a strengths-based approach, focusing on applied behavior analysis and positive behavior supports, with the goal of fostering greater employment independence among students.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise, train, and coach students within the school and/or in the community
- Work with students to achieve a level of accomplishment and productivity that allows for greater employment independence
- Work with the team to assess skills and level of functioning/participation
- Document progress and involvement of students
- Provide information and input based on level of participation, functioning and progress to goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred
- High school diploma required
- Two years experience working with adolescents and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders in a transition and employment setting preferred
