About the position
The Employment Specialist/Job Coach/Direct Support Professional (ES/JC/DSP) plays a crucial role in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead active and fulfilling lives within their communities. This position focuses on providing direct support, teaching essential skills, and ensuring the well-being of the individuals served, while also offering opportunities for personal and professional growth through training and advancement.
Responsibilities
- Teach, support, and maintain skills, behavior, social and recreational programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Provide direct care to individuals in residential and community settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding progress notes, timesheets, and other required documentation.
- Communicate with other staff and management in a professional manner.
- Provide updated information in a timely manner to meet state and federal guidelines.
- Complete all required and ongoing training as needed.
- Assist with coordination and execution of job development and job placement events for individuals.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals at all times.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass required background checks and clearances (Criminal, FBI, Child Abuse Clearances, etc.).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Valid vehicle registration and insurance.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a similar role is a plus, but not necessary.
- Genuine desire to help others achieve their goals.
