About the position

The Job Coach/Employment Specialist will provide job placement services for individuals with disabilities under the supervision of the Program Manager. This role involves counseling, outreach, and case management to assist clients in securing employment and navigating available resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide job assistance and support to clients.
  • Make appointments, keep extensive records, and write reports.
  • Transport or escort clients receiving services through the agency as needed.
  • Assist clients in developing resumes.
  • Help clarify agency programs to the community.
  • Maintain SSA, Medicaid, & Department of Rehab Employment Files.
  • Complete all paperwork associated with AS, VP, JP, R4, R8, ST and EM milestones.
  • Provide job development service.
  • Contact prospective employers concerning placement of clients.
  • Serve on committees or deliberate with other agencies regarding needs of individuals served.
  • Attend staff and in-service meetings and trainings.
  • Refer clients to other agencies for appropriate services as needed.
  • Assist in the planning of new programs.
  • Speak with community groups or other agencies regarding the CSI's resources and programs.
  • Provide outreach education and information to individuals in need of services.
  • Document contact with clients.
  • Complete one month of job shadowing with other trained personnel.
  • Maintain professional relationship with Department of Rehab Vocational Counselors.
  • Exercise good judgment and tact.
  • Relate and communicate effectively with persons served.
  • Function as a team member.
  • Interpret CSI programs to individuals and community served.
  • Write clear and comprehensive reports.
  • Provide case management services under the Community Integration Contract.
  • Familiarize self with Oklahoma City Area employment resources, including support services and other resources for job seekers.
  • Complete billing document daily, weekly, or monthly.
  • Responsible for record keeping of files.
  • Complete Job Coach and Job Club Training.
  • Complete intake paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree Preferred.
  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Knowledge of Social Services.
  • Dependable, professional, and self-motivated.
  • Experience in sales, customer service and/or social work required.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License required.
  • Current automobile liability insurance, car, and good driving record are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in job development/job placement (1 year preferred).
