About the position

The Job Coach position at Devereux is designed to assist adolescents and young adults with emotional support and behavioral health diagnoses in transitioning from school-based programming to community and post-education life. The role involves developing activities, supervising students, and working collaboratively to enhance their vocational skills and independence in employment settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop activities to support the transition of students from childhood to adulthood
• Directly supervise, train, and coach students within the school and community job sites
• Work with students to achieve a level of accomplishment and productivity that allows for greater employment independence
• Assess skills and level of functioning/participation and document progress and involvement of students
• Provide information and input based on level of participation, functioning and progress to goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred
• High school diploma required
• Two years experience working with adolescents and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders in a transition and employment setting preferred
