About the position

The Job Coach position at Devereux involves working directly with adolescents and young adults who have emotional support and behavioral health diagnoses. The role focuses on assisting these individuals in transitioning from school-based programming to community and post-education life, emphasizing vocational skills and independence.

Responsibilities

• Develop activities to support the transition of students from childhood to adulthood
• Directly supervise, train, and coach students within the school and community job sites
• Work with students to achieve a level of accomplishment and productivity that allows for greater employment independence
• Work with a team to assess skills and level of functioning/participation and document progress and involvement of students
• Provide information and input based on level of participation, functioning and progress to goals

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field preferred
• High school diploma required
• Two years experience working with adolescents and young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders in a transition and employment setting preferred
