About the position

The Job Coach for Project SEARCH at Hope Services plays a crucial role in providing individualized support to clients with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. This position focuses on assessing and addressing personal and social barriers that hinder success in community employment settings. The Job Coach collaborates with various stakeholders, including school districts and employers, to facilitate job training and ensure the quality of services aligns with Hope Services' mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Represent HOPE in day-to-day Project Search activities at the worksite.
  • Write a program plan with each intern that outlines their objectives and leads to a job development plan.
  • Work with adult interns and school instructors to ensure consistent program implementation under the direction of the PS Instructor.
  • Provide regular feedback to interns and communicate with their support persons regarding progress and needs.
  • Provide individualized support for interns on their rotation assignments, including job coaching and identifying job accommodations.
  • Perform task analyses, job analyses, and maintain detailed data collection.
  • Assist interns in preparing for employment, including interview skills and job search plans.
  • Provide travel training as necessary.
  • Help with job development for interns and act as the HOPE Representative for host employers.
  • Assist with case reviews and maintain client files, ensuring completion of monthly reports.
  • Act as a mandated abuse reporter.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support agency goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent plus one year of related experience or an approved combination of work history and education.
  • Clear driving record and a valid Driver's License.
  • Professional level English skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate with and train persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of and experience with travel training.
  • Knowledge of advocacy, ADA, DOL and employment-related issues for the disabled.
  • Ability to perform job analysis in conjunction with the school district.
  • Understanding of person-centered planning and individual training plans.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Self-starting, independent, and reliable with good judgment.
  • Ability to complete reports and data collection using computer software like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations.
