About the position

The Job Coach plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities in the Community Supports Jobs program. This position focuses on facilitating employment opportunities, providing training and coaching, and ensuring ongoing support to help individuals achieve successful employment outcomes. The Job Coach collaborates with Job Developers and community employers to create job matches and assists individuals in developing job readiness skills.

Responsibilities

  • Network, research, and collaborate with community-based employers to support job matches for individuals with disabilities.
  • Support individuals through the employment process.
  • Collaborate with the MOKA Community Supports team, funders, and individuals served to meet employment goals.
  • Assess and advocate for individuals' interests and employment goals.
  • Connect individuals to community resources and partners.
  • Implement employment training with individuals receiving services.
  • Establish a healthy working relationship with individuals served and Job Developers.
  • Learn and complete employer job duties alongside individuals served.
  • Role model successful job completion and teach workplace values.
  • Communicate employer expectations and monitor individuals' progress.
  • Support individuals in achieving job matches by exposing them to varied job responsibilities.
  • Facilitate positive relationships between individuals and employers.
  • Maintain and submit accurate records and reports.
  • Encourage peer-group support and integration with the employer workforce.
  • Attend meetings, seminars, and trainings as needed.
  • Respond to health risks or hazardous conditions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in retail supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and in writing.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations and measurements.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities in various situations.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail supervision preferred.
