About the position
Patuxent Engineering, LLC is looking for an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join their team in the NJ/NYC office located in Metuchen, NJ. This in-office role involves working collaboratively with engineers and designers on various structural engineering projects, particularly in the high-rise building and heavy construction industries.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers on structural engineering projects.
- Utilize drafting software (AUTOCAD 2D/3D) for design and documentation.
- Perform structural analysis using software such as RISA.
- Engage in solid modeling using Inventor software.
- Apply knowledge of structural steel design codes (LRFD/ASD) and relevant building codes.
- Assist in the design of concrete, steel, and foundation structures.
- Support construction engineering services including temporary structures and stability evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
- Experience with drafting software (AUTOCAD 2D/3D).
- Familiarity with structural analysis software (RISA).
- Knowledge of solid modeling software (Inventor).
- Understanding of structural steel design codes (LRFD/ASD).
- Basic knowledge of Wind/Seismic Codes and NYC Building Codes.
Nice-to-haves
- Interest in concrete, steel, and foundation design.
- Familiarity with mechanical means and methods for construction.
