About the position

The Facilities Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of transport operations and the dispatch department. This includes driver management, dispatch coordination, and ensuring customer service excellence. The role is crucial for maintaining efficient and timely responses to transport requests while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule a team of drivers, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
• Oversee driver training, certification, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching or corrective action as needed.
• Manage day-to-day dispatch operations, coordinating efficient allocation of drivers to service calls.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch and driver activities, including response times and incident reports.
• Act as a liaison between dispatch drivers and customers, ensuring clear communication.
• Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including response times and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee the maintenance schedule for all department trucks, coordinating repairs and inspections.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required; additional education in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in transportation management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Familiarity with dispatch software and fleet management systems is essential.
• Strong knowledge of regulations and industry best practices is required.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations is important.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with fleet management systems is a plus.
• Additional certifications in logistics or transportation management are preferred.
