About the position

The Operations Business Analyst with EHS is responsible for assessing and analyzing the business environment to define and document business requirements, capturing challenges and opportunities, and ensuring deliverables align with business needs. This role involves leading activities related to operations assurance processes, engaging stakeholders, and supporting the development of a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead activities related to the requirements, design, development, and deployment of operations assurance processes.
  • Apply business knowledge to effectively understand, document, and communicate requirements that define project scope.
  • Implement EH&S applications/solutions in oil and gas, focusing on assurance/auditing and process safety.
  • Identify inefficiencies in business processes and recommend improvements.
  • Analyze existing processes, workflows, systems, and applications, creating as-is and to-be internal business processes.
  • Assess system specifications and provide feedback on potential gaps and prioritization.
  • Identify and manage gaps and inefficiencies in operations assurance business processes.
  • Engage project stakeholders and end users throughout the project lifecycle, including definition, requirement development, testing, training, implementation, and post go-live phases.
  • Evaluate vendor partners/solutions and assist in coordination of implementation efforts.
  • Support process improvements related to people, process, and technology.
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence through active participation and empowerment of personnel.
  • Provide technical guidance to create training materials, brochures, surveys, and reports.
  • Assist in the development, execution, and evaluation of change strategies and initiatives, including communication and training plans.
  • Develop, track, and maintain change management metrics.
  • Coordinate and plan change management activities in support of IT and the business.
  • Maintain and implement a resistance management plan for element owners and key process owners.
  • Facilitate collaborative workshops and work relationships focusing on solution quality and organizational acceptance.
  • Assist with the continuous development and implementation of Operations Tools and Systems in alignment with company strategy.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Business Analyst in operations tools and systems.
  • Strong understanding of EH&S applications/solutions in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven experience in process optimization and identifying inefficiencies.
  • Ability to analyze existing processes and create documentation for improvement.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing project lifecycles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with change management strategies and initiatives.
  • Familiarity with training material development and execution.
  • Knowledge of operational excellence frameworks.
