About the position
The Senior Android Developer will lead the development efforts for Schwab's mobile applications, providing guidance and mentorship to the engineering team. This role involves participating in design discussions, creating a vision and roadmap for mobile applications, and removing roadblocks for team members. The position requires extensive experience in Android development and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development efforts for Schwab's suite of mobile applications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the engineering team.
- Participate in design discussions for mobile applications.
- Work closely with the principal Android Developer to create the vision and roadmap.
- Remove roadblocks for engineers on the team.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Android development experience with team leadership experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience coaching and mentoring junior developers.
- Experience with REST, JSON, XML, and interfacing Android applications to server-side APIs.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
- Expertise in Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools.
- Deep understanding of Android architecture components.
- Solid grasp of algorithms, memory management, and real-time communications.
- Familiarity with Agile practices.
- Thorough understanding of mobile encryption algorithms, analytics, and social channel integration.
- Experience in developing reusable artifacts, modules, and assets.
