About the position

The Job Trainer plays a crucial role in supporting and mentoring developmentally disabled individuals in both their home and work environments. This position focuses on fostering relationships between clients and their employers, ensuring clients are supervised and guided effectively, and documenting their progress and behaviors throughout their shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support, supervision, coaching, mentoring, and training to developmentally disabled individuals.
  • Mentor clients in developing relationships with employers, co-workers, and the community.
  • Maintain constant supervision of clients, ensuring they are always in eyesight.
  • Display patience and provide clear instructions tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Document daily notes reflecting activities and occurrences during shifts.
  • Report undesirable behaviors to the Executive Director, including stealing and disrespectful conduct.
  • Ensure clients complete assigned job tasks and exhibit appropriate behavior in the community.
  • Teach clients care and respect for Bridgeway property and the property of others.
  • Follow training guidelines set by regulatory agencies.
  • Document all training performed at the job site, including location, attendees, and subject content.
  • Interact with individuals receiving Supported Employment services.
  • Protect clients' rights.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (and/or GED)
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Mandt Training certification
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Pass a drug screen, MVR, MS State Background Check, and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance Check
  • Pass a physical examination and TB Skin Test
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
