About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Sessions by the Bay will oversee all product sourcing, vendor relationships, and procurement strategies for the company, which includes a cannabis consumption lounge and retail dispensary. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality products and supplies while negotiating favorable terms with brand partners, driving financial growth, and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Build strong vendor relationships to secure quality products at competitive rates.
• Negotiate sponsorship opportunities and brand placements that align with company and vendor goals.
• Manage sourcing for all product lines, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with retail teams to align stock levels with sales forecasts and customer demand.
• Utilize data systems to track performance and adjust procurement strategies for maximum revenue and profitability.
• Work with the marketing director to secure sponsorships for monetization opportunities.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to purchasing efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with state regulations.
• Collaborate with various departments to align purchasing strategies with company goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the cannabis industry.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools (Headset, BDS Analytics, Treez, etc.) and inventory management systems.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure beneficial contracts and partnerships.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

• Proven experience in vendor management and negotiation.
