About The Position

The position serves as the lead Homeland Defense joint exercise planner for the USNORTHCOM J3 (NC/J3) directorate. The incumbent is responsible for planning, executing, synchronizing, and managing joint and combined exercises to ensure mission success in support of USNORTHCOM's Homeland Defense, Land Domain Operations, and Cyber missions. This includes providing senior technical expertise to support exercise design and execution, integrating various operational requirements, and leading the NC/J3 Training and Education Representatives to develop exercise scenarios. The role also involves supporting operational surge within the operations directorate for exercise support, crisis, and contingency operations.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship Required.
• Males must be registered for Selective Service.
• Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Refrain from illegal drug use and submit to urinalysis testing if required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Joint Training System and policies governing exercise planning.
• Knowledge of military law, joint doctrine, and operational plans.
• Familiarity with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, development, and execution of exercises for the NC/J3 Directorate.
• Support the Theater Security Cooperation and Civil Support exercise planner for USNORTHCOM.
• Serve as the primary operations observer/controller during Joint and combined exercises.
• Establish and maintain the exercise planning schedule for assigned exercises.
