About the position

The Joint Model Based Systems Engineering Expert will support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center's (SWAC) Force Design Integration Office (FDIO) in Reston, VA. This role involves working closely with various program offices and organizations to model joint operational scenarios and missions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices. The expert will be responsible for capturing complex operational concepts and translating them into dynamic models, while also supporting mission-level analysis and maintaining a Digital Engineering Library.

Responsibilities

• Support the SWAC Force Design Integration Office with anticipated travel.
• Model joint operational scenarios, missions, and interdependencies at all classification levels.
• Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, including Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• Interface with Department of the Air Force, Joint Staff, and other DoD organizations to incorporate joint models into SWAC efforts.
• Capture operational scenarios in SysML and/or UAF using Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Translate simulation outputs into dynamic SysML and/or UAF models using Cameo.
• Communicate complex operational concepts through SysML and/or UAF models using Cameo.
• Support mission- and enterprise-level analysis within SWAC teams.
• Assist in the maintenance and standardization of a SWAC Digital Engineering Library.
• Document SWAC MBSE and Digital Engineering analysis processes and tools.
• Translate complex technical information into accessible products for non-experts.
• Develop and prepare formal correspondence and documentation.

Requirements

• STEM Bachelor's Degree
• Active TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility
• Ability to work in a secure, confined location
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing and presentation development
• Experience working effectively in a cross-country, multi-disciplinary team environment
• Understanding of complex technical issues and ability to produce recommendations for a wide audience
• Ability to quickly create decision-quality materials for senior leaders
• Critical thinking skills in complex and dynamic environments.

Nice-to-haves

• STEM Master's Degree
• 10+ years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering and Systems Modeling Language/Unified Architecture Framework
• 7+ years of Joint Operational Planning / Joint integration experience
• 3+ years of space operations or space acquisition experience
• Experience with DoD, IC, and Commercial Satellite systems in SCI/SAP environment
• CI Poly preferred.
