About the position

As a Joint Selling Business Development Manager at Avnet, you will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for business expansion that align with our customer sales strategy. This position requires you to develop and maintain strong business relationships by providing tailored solutions for defined accounts, ultimately achieving the strategic and financial objectives set forth by the organization. You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for brand products and technology solutions, ensuring that you are well-versed in the offerings available to our customers. Your expertise will not only benefit your assigned accounts but also contribute to the overall success of the Avnet organization and its internal teams. In this role, you will be responsible for executing strategic customer growth plans and fostering business relationships within your assigned accounts. This involves identifying and creating demand for products, coordinating seminars, training sessions, and resource awareness initiatives that drive growth in targeted accounts. You will also perform analyses and report on the impact of various programs for your identified customers, keeping the account manager informed of successes, challenges, and future growth strategies. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a comprehensive understanding of product trends, competitor activities, and customer needs within the assigned supplier product market. Building and nurturing field supplier relationships will also be a key aspect of your role. As you work independently within your assigned territory, you will have the flexibility to set and negotiate terms while collaborating with internal teams, managers, and support functions across Newark and Avnet. Additionally, you will provide training to the sales organization on joint selling strategies, impacting both your sales quota and that of your colleagues. This position is designed for individuals who are self-starters and independent decision-makers, capable of managing their own workload while prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. You will be expected to leverage your sales and marketing experience, along with proficiency in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and PowerBi, to effectively manage your responsibilities and contribute to the success of Avnet.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for business expansion in support of the customer sales strategy.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships by providing solutions for defined accounts.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for brand products and technology solutions for assigned customers.
  • Execute strategic customer growth plans and business relationships in assigned accounts.
  • Create demand for products and coordinate supporting seminars, training, and resource awareness for assigned customers.
  • Perform analysis and report results of various program impacts for identified customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of products, competitors, technology, and customers in the assigned supplier product market.
  • Identify and maintain field supplier relationships.
  • Provide training to the sales organization on joint selling.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
  • Sales and marketing experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient with internal systems such as Salesforce, BPCS, and PowerBi.
