About the position

The Jordan Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading United Muslim Relief's (UMR) in-country projects in Jordan. This full-time position is based in Amman, Jordan, and reports directly to the Country Director and the Program Manager at headquarters. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of protection and assistance projects aimed at supporting vulnerable populations. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of international development and humanitarian relief experience, along with project coordination skills. They should be fluent in both English and Arabic and stay informed about current events relevant to UMR's mission. In this role, the Program Coordinator will coordinate daily activities in the Jordan office, draft grant proposals, and engage with key stakeholders across Jordan. They will summarize program activities in regular reports and represent UMR in technical working groups. The coordinator will also manage active projects, ensuring alignment with local humanitarian plans and acting as the focal point for UMR's safeguarding initiatives. The position requires a proactive individual who can generate innovative ideas to aid target populations and uphold best practices across all programmatic activities. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 5-6 years of relevant experience in international development, humanitarian aid, or public health. They must demonstrate exceptional communication skills in both English and Arabic, experience in managing program budgets, and proficiency in writing reports and grant proposals. The role demands a highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven individual who can work effectively in diverse teams and navigate challenges creatively. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily activities in the Jordan office
  • Draft grant proposals and other written documents related to UMR's programming
  • Identify, engage, and collaborate with key stakeholders across Jordan
  • Summarize key program activities in weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
  • Represent UMR in relevant technical working groups
  • Lead UMR efforts to align the project with the local humanitarian plan
  • Manage active projects including needs assessment, selection, verification, and evaluation stages
  • Become UMR PSEAH focal point for Jordan and ensure reporting of these activities globally
  • Generate ideas for new ways to aid target populations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to best practices across all programmatic activities
  • Provide program coordinator oversight including partner selection and proposal development
  • Support the development and documentation of training implementation and tools
  • Lead in writing proposals, concept papers, and reports
  • Ensure projects' record keeping and statistical information is maintained and communicated
  • Participate and coordinate with relevant actors, such as working groups and government institutions
  • Review status reports prepared by project partners and modify schedules or plans as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • 5-6 years working experience in international development, humanitarian aid, public health, or related field
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Experience in managing program budgets, including preparation of financial projections
  • Experience in writing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for programs
  • Experience with fundraising and writing grant proposals
  • Basic technological proficiency and willingness to learn new software tools
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, results-driven, and proactive
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage challenges creatively
