About the position

The Journeyman Cloud Computing Specialist/Web Application Developer at Cherokee Nation Systems Solutions (CNSS) is responsible for developing cloud-native solutions within an agile product delivery team. This role involves interfacing with stakeholders to gather requirements, documenting user stories, and creating various software development lifecycle (SDLC) documents. The specialist will leverage AWS tools to build applications, ensuring they meet mission requirements while considering security and architectural impacts.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting user stories based on product owner requirements and backlog
  • Ingest and visualize data sets from internal and external providers for integration into cloud solutions
  • Elicit data requirements from the product owner and other stakeholders
  • Create/update SDLC documentation including Requirements Documentation, Use Case Documentation, and Testing Plan
  • Support the Product Owner by facilitating user acceptance testing with stakeholders
  • Support the scrum team with web/cloud development tasks as necessary
  • Develop cloud-based applications using AWS native tooling including Python, JavaScript, and various AWS services
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and other approved tools
  • Develop APIs and application integrations
  • Ensure participation in an agile software development team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality websites on time and within budget
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Bachelor's degree in web design, computer science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in web design and development, preferably in a federal agency setting
  • Experience participating in an agile environment
  • Proficiency in website design and development tools including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS
  • Strong visual design skills for creating user-friendly website layouts
  • Knowledge of programming techniques for optimizing website performance and security
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with standard concepts and practices in web design and development
