About the position

As a Journeyman Cloud Computing Specialist/Web Application Developer at Cherokee Nation Systems Solutions (CNSS), you will be responsible for developing cloud-native solutions that align with mission requirements while considering security, financial, architectural, and business impacts. This role involves working within an agile product delivery team to create and maintain web applications and cloud solutions, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities

• Documenting user stories based on product owner requirements and backlog.
• Ingesting and visualizing data sets from internal and external providers for integration into cloud-deployed solutions.
• Eliciting data requirements from the product owner and other stakeholders.
• Creating/updating SDLC documentation based on stakeholder requirements, including Requirements Documentation, Use Case Documentation, Data Flow Documentation, and more.
• Supporting the Product Owner by facilitating user acceptance testing with stakeholders.
• Supporting the scrum team with additional web/cloud development tasks as necessary.
• Developing cloud-based applications using AWS native tooling, including Python, JavaScript, and various AWS services.
• Leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and other approved tools and resources.
• Developing APIs and other application integrations.
• Ensuring participation in an agile software development team.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality websites on time and within budget.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).
• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in web design, computer science, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in web design and development, preferably in a federal agency setting.
• Experience participating in an agile environment.
• Proficiency in website design and development tools and technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS.
• Strong visual design skills for creating user-friendly website layouts and graphics.
• Knowledge of programming techniques and best practices for optimizing website performance and security.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in web design and development.
