About the position

Koniag Data Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Journeyman Computer Programmer to support the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Washington, DC. This remote position involves collaboration within a team to enhance IT modernization efforts, focusing on Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of virtual desktop infrastructure and cloud services. The role requires expertise in programming, problem-solving, and the ability to work with various technologies to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solutions.
• Administer, configure, manage, and monitor the VDI/DaaS environment.
• Write code and implement computer programs across multiple systems.
• Collaborate with software developers to create programs and ensure seamless integration.
• Test and debug software applications to ensure quality and reliability.
• Document code and maintain version control, providing technical documentation.
• Design and develop web applications using Spring STS, Bootstrap, and other technologies.
• Perform unit, peer, and integration tests of product functionality.
• Research and resolve problems discovered by QA or support teams.
• Collaborate with business leaders on requirements and deliver timely solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience developing web applications.
• 3+ years of experience developing applications using Java.
• 3+ years of experience using SQL and developing database objects.
• Experience with MuleSoft, JBoss, MS SQL Server, GitLab, JIRA.
• Proficient in Object Oriented Design and Development.
• Strong problem-solving and analysis skills.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Knowledge and experience with HUD OCIO IOO.
