About the position

Axient is seeking a Journeyman Database Engineer/Analyst to provide support to our government customer in El Segundo, CA, specifically for systems engineering and integration of Space Force projects under the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO). This role involves building and maintaining database repositories across all three classification levels: unclassified, secret, and TS-SCI. These repositories will be utilized to store various Space Force mission area future architecture products, analysis outputs, roadmaps, studies, and War Room artifacts, among other critical data. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing databases using industry-standard tools such as Confluence and JIRA. A key aspect of this role is to ensure that the right users across the Space Systems Command (SSC) and SSIO have timely access to the necessary data in an appropriate format, while also controlling access privileges to sensitive program data. Additionally, the candidate will provide proactive and reactive data management, updates, support, and training to users across SSIO. The position also requires determining, enforcing, and documenting SSC/S5 database policies, procedures, and standards. The candidate will be expected to provide other engineering and integration support as required by the customer and contract, ensuring that all tasks align with the overarching goals of the Space Force projects.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain database repositories at all 3 classification levels (unclassified, secret, TS-SCI) to store Space Force mission area future architecture products, analysis outputs, roadmaps, studies, War Room artifacts, etc.
  • Design and implement database using industry standard tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
  • Enable distribution to the right users across SSC and SSIO in an appropriate format and in a timely manner, controlling access privileges to sensitive program data.
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management, updates, support, and training to users across SSIO.
  • Determine, enforce, and document SSC/S5 database policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide other engineering/integration support as required by the customer and contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge management skills are essential.
  • Experience with digital engineering database entry is required.
  • Basic financial understanding is necessary.
  • Graphics and technical editing skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of government procurement, protocols, and military courtesies is a plus.
  • Must have TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA for database management.
  • Familiarity with Space Force projects and protocols.
