About the position
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for maintaining the electrical systems and infrastructure within the facility to ensure a safe working environment. This role involves troubleshooting electrical issues, designing and installing electrical services, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The position supports continuous improvement and plant reliability strategies, contributing to the overall productivity of the production environment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and repairs any electrical problems occurring on the production floor.
- Designs and installs electrical service to equipment and facility, following all local and state code requirements.
- Conducts annual audits of electrical installations to identify and repair deficiencies.
- Interprets schematics for designing and layout of installations.
- Maintains electrical panels and services electrical components to improve product flow or increase equipment efficiency.
- Conducts assessments of main electrical supply components to minimize risks of failures.
- Documents all training, PPE maintenance, written permit management, and other key components.
- Understands and adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies.
- Practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field.
- High School Diploma or GED.
