Journeyman Electrician (Lakeland)

About the position

The Journeyman Electrician at JF Petroleum Group plays a crucial role in coordinating electrical construction jobs and projects, ensuring efficient use of time and resources. This position involves planning, organizing, and controlling resources to maximize productivity while meeting project budgets. The Journeyman Electrician will also serve as the Electrical Lead on projects, ensuring quality and proper training of Crew Leaders and Helpers.

Responsibilities

• Attend and contribute to pre-construction meetings upon request.
• Report directly to the Electrical Field Operations Manager and function as an extension of that position.
• Attend on-site coordination meetings with customers and sales personnel as requested.
• Aid in the education and enforcement of company policy and procedures, including site safety concerns.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of assembly and installation of assigned products.
• Work directly with local Fire Marshalls, Inspectors, and other officials to perform work according to State and National guidelines.
• Stage and select materials based on information provided by sales and estimators, as indicated on drawings or other written instructions.
• Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines in the work area to determine actual locations of system components as described in drawings.
• Operate tools and equipment necessary to safely and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
• Work directly with other Journeymen or crew leaders to ensure continuity of work in situations requiring multiple disciplines.
• Work with apprentices to set goals for personal production based on job schedule and budget requirements.
• Review specific safety events for projects and develop JSA (Job Safety Analysis) for all work performed.
• Periodically review work plans to assure that all information, tools, and materials required are present prior to beginning work.
• Work with Management to develop crew schedules and determine resource requirements for maximum efficiency and production.
• Understand, comply with, and enforce JF Petroleum Group safety policies and OSHA safety requirements.
• Participate in safety programs provided by the employer.
• Identify potential safety hazards and either eliminate them or report them to the Department Manager for resolution.
• Ensure the use of proper safety equipment at all times and by all employees under direction.
• Report accidents or injuries to management immediately and aid in the investigation and documentation of job-related accidents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Current, unrestricted driver's license free of moving violations to operate company vehicle and a state Electrical Journeyman license.
• Ability to pass drug screening, criminal background check, and MVR if driving for the company.
• Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending, stooping, standing for 8-10 hours per day.
