Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs (CNSP) is seeking a skilled Journeyman Interior Designer with extensive experience in facility interior design. This role focuses on leading the interior design of Department of Defense (DoD) facilities, ensuring compliance with design standards, accessibility guidelines, and DoD criteria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing technical specifications, construction documents, and ensuring adherence to relevant building codes. The position requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in facility interior design, with additional experience overseeing the development of Scope of Work (SOW) and funding documents in support of the DoD Tri-Service Criteria Program. In this role, the designer will perform reviews, development, update, and coordination of various design criteria and guidelines, including Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), and Department of the Air Force Instructions. The designer will lead the interior design of DoD facilities, ensuring compliance with design standards and accessibility guidelines, and will develop the creation of technical specifications, interior design and construction documents, and operating instructions for Air Force or Space Force installations. The designer will also provide expert guidance on the application of building codes, interior design, and accessibility standards, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that all design work aligns with the mission and goals of the Air Force or Space Force installations. Travel will be required to various Air Force bases, both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The position may also involve performing other job-related duties as assigned, making it essential for the candidate to be adaptable and proactive in their approach to interior design projects.
