About the position

The Journeyman Lineman is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical power lines. This role requires technical skill, physical endurance, and a commitment to safety, ensuring reliable electrical service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on distribution lines, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
• Locate and repair faults in the distribution system, such as downed lines, broken insulators, and equipment failures.
• Install and replace poles, transformers, and other distribution equipment.
• Work with underground cables, including installation, maintenance, and repairs.
• Interact with customers to address their electrical service needs and concerns.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Respond to power outages and other emergencies as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory and distribution systems.
• Valid commercial driver's license and medical card.
• Completion of a recognized lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication, positive attitude, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Journeyman lineman certification - Recommended but not required.
