About the position
The Journeyman/Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment as well as the installation of new electrical, building and equipment projects. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance to ensure there are minimal disruptions to production. Work is not limited to only electrical duties but also may include some mechanical work as needed. The primary purpose of the Journeyman Electrician will be to maintain existing operation, and work as a team to achieve the long term goals of the plant and company, to help trouble shoot and come up with innovative ideas to solve problems, and to train Maintenance employees and Apprentices.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment.
- Installation of new electrical, building and equipment projects.
- Performing preventative maintenance to minimize disruptions to production.
- Maintaining existing operations.
- Working as a team to achieve long term goals of the plant and company.
- Training Maintenance employees and Apprentices.
Requirements
- Excellent troubleshooting ability.
- Experience as an electrician working in an industrial environment.
- Strong safety record and awareness.
- Ambition to learn and mentor others.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and computer skills.
- High School diploma or GED with 4 years' experience as an electrician.
Nice-to-haves
- Journeyman or Master Electrician certification.
- Flexibility to work weekend and holiday rotations.
