About the position

The Journeyman Pipefitter position at ATI in Albany, OR, involves laying out, installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of pipe fittings and fixtures as part of plant maintenance and construction. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently with minimal supervision, utilizing a range of tools and equipment to ensure the effective operation of piping systems.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, install, maintain, and repair all types of pipe fittings and fixtures.
• Interpret prints, drawings, and sketches to plan work procedures.
• Select materials suitable for the job requirements.
• Set up and operate bending, threading, and cut-off equipment.
• Test, inspect, dismantle, repair, replace, and install pumps and piping systems.
• Make and seal various types of joints such as expansion, flange, and soldered joints.
• Fit, tack, and weld pipe as necessary.
• Install gaskets, packing, and pipe supports.
• Apply insulation and pipe covering as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 4 years journey level experience in industrial plant pipe fitting.

Nice-to-haves

• Oregon Journeyman card preferred.
