About the position
Kennametal Inc. is seeking a Junior Analyst in Manufacturing to join our team in Bangalore, India. This position is integral to our project execution processes, particularly focusing on CNC machines, assembly, and testing. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of application engineering, including job prove out and commissioning of machines. The role requires a hands-on approach to machine testing and component prove out, ensuring that all operations meet the high standards expected by our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for machine testing and component prove out, which involves verifying that the machines operate correctly and meet the specifications required for customer satisfaction. You will also be tasked with machine commissioning and component prove out at customer sites, which requires effective communication and coordination with various teams. As an interface for project execution, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Design, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Inspection, Electrical, and Logistics, to ensure seamless project delivery. Safety compliance is a critical aspect of this position, and you will be expected to uphold safety standards in the workplace. Additionally, you will participate in productivity improvement initiatives and lean projects, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities
- Responsible for machine testing and component prove out.
- Conduct machine commissioning and component prove out at customer sites.
- Interface for project execution with cross-functional teams including Sales, Design, SCM, Inspection, Electrical, and Logistics.
- Ensure safety compliance at the workplace.
- Participate in productivity improvements and lean projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the machine tool industry, preferably with VTLs, SPMs, HMCs, or VMCs.
- Experience in machine building and installation at customer sites.
- In-depth knowledge of CNC machines and hands-on programming experience.
- Experience in customer service related to machine tools.
Nice-to-haves
- Certifications in Manufacturing Process, Metal Cutting Application Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and Safety.
- Strong technical skills and ability to analyze drawings.
- Multi-tasking and analytical skills.
- Soft skills for data collation, analysis, and presentations.
