About the position

The Jr Application Production Support role is designed for a junior level technical support engineer who will manage application and production support for a critical project in the banking domain. The position emphasizes a focus on the SRE/DevOps roadmap and requires a passion for technology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of support for application incidents.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve functional and technical problems.
  • Ensure quality services are delivered in accordance with the agreed service level agreements.
  • Understand client business needs to recommend and support application services.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Application Production Support on Linux platform.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in scripting and automation, particularly with Shell.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Release management.
  • Basic knowledge of Middleware technologies such as Apache Tomcat.
  • Experience with application monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, and Prometheus.
  • Experience with scheduling mechanisms like AutoSys.
  • Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and uDeploy.
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle SQL and database technologies.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure technologies including Linux and Windows.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the banking domain.
  • Good knowledge of ITSM processes.
  • Familiarity with SDLC processes.
  • DevOps, cloud, or AWS training/certification.
