About the position

CGI is looking for a Jr. Automation Engineer to help our client modernize their existing automation infrastructure and to build new automation tooling using their Citizen Developer toolset. This role is crucial as it involves assisting our client in automating their processes and analyzing their data to make important decisions. The ideal candidate must be able to learn new technologies rapidly to leverage them effectively for the client’s needs. This position is based in our Fairfax, VA office, with a hybrid working model acceptable, requiring presence in the office two days per week. In this role, you will enhance and maintain business automation tools, refactor existing automation solutions to utilize new low-code tools, and build new solutions based on existing system logic along with new functional and interface requirements. You will participate in design meetings with other projects and the client's technical specialists, collaborate with other agile teams to design, build, and deliver cloud-based solutions, and coordinate integration testing across multiple teams. Additionally, you will engage in daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint demos, and other Agile ceremonies, ensuring that the team remains aligned and productive throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Due to the nature of the government contracts, this position requires US Citizenship
  • 1+ years of development experience in the Information Technology field focusing on development projects using Java, JavaScript or Microsoft Power Apps
  • Experience with Jenkins and GitHub
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience delivering as part of Agile Development teams and strong familiarity with Scrum and/or Kanban delivery models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience with ServiceNow or Salesforce
