About the position

The Junior Structural Bridge Engineer will assist senior bridge staff in various tasks related to the analysis, design, detailing, and inspection of bridge projects for local and State DOTs. This role involves supporting project execution through report preparation, field reconnaissance, and attending necessary meetings and conferences. The engineer will also engage in miscellaneous structural designs, including shoring and falsework.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior level bridge staff with analysis, design, detailing, and inspection on local and State DOT projects.
• Prepare reports and conduct field reconnaissance and inspection.
• Attend meetings and conferences as necessary or required.
• Complete miscellaneous structural designs, such as shoring and falsework.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering from an ABET Accredited College.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in structural engineering.
• EIT Certificate preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months); PE License is a plus.
• Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, SAP2000, Midas Civil, EnerCalc, and MathCAD is a plus.
• Familiarity with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission projects and their design software is a plus.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word & Excel.
• Desire to work in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with reinforced concrete and steel design.
