About the position

The Jr. Budget Analyst position at Educational Alliance is designed to support budget analysts in maintaining the integrity of accounting information by monitoring spending levels and facilitating the timely close-out of grants. The role involves participating in regular budget reviews with budget analysts and program staff to manage financial activities effectively, ensuring compliance with funder and agency guidelines. This hybrid role requires three days on-site and two days remote work, focusing on financial planning, reporting, and the development of efficient internal systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist budget analysts in regular budget review of programs
• Assist in the billing of funder grants and preparation of monthly financial statements, variance reports
• Assist in reconciliation and performance of grant closeout functions required by government and foundation contract administration as well as sponsors
• Assist budget analysts to enter the approved budgets into Intacct (accounting software) as well as ensure proper allocation of grant related costs
• Prepare ad-hoc reports for budget analysts

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Senior in college pursuing an Accounting degree required
• High proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and Intacct (a plus)
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to details and an eye for developing efficient, internal systems and workflow
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in order to meet deadlines, detail oriented and extremely organized.
