About the position

The Jr. Business Analyst position is a contract role focused on supporting the Early Childhood Education team in Nashville, TN. The analyst will work with TDOE leadership to establish and manage the Early Childhood data system, ensuring accurate data ingestion and reporting through Power Apps and PowerBI. This role involves user support, data analysis, and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance data reliability and usability.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate sessions to gather and document requirements and explore solutions.
• Analyze the ingestion of various data points into the Power Apps data system and other data sources.
• Build reporting features from the data for internal and public consumption using PowerBI.
• Provide user support to ensure data accuracy and reliability through 1:1 conversations, office hours, and training.
• Work effectively with all levels of State staff from clerical to executive management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in similar roles.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Education programs and early childhood is desired.
• Experience with databases, data queries, and reporting platforms (PowerBI, etc).
• Ability to work remotely while maintaining a collaborative work environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on Data Modeling and Process Modeling experience.
• Understanding of current information technology and ability to conceptualize solutions to business problems.
• Experience working with IT product owners and development teams to articulate data needs.
