About the position

NexGen Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Junior Business Analyst to support federal government applications and programs. This role involves collaborating with various teams, including subject matter experts and project managers, to ensure that business and system requirements are effectively gathered, documented, and met. The position requires technical troubleshooting, application support, and the development of training materials and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct business and systems analysis including requirements elicitation, documentation, and clarification.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and application support to end-users and system administrators.
  • Collaborate with development staff to ensure database/software applications meet technical, functional, and security specifications.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, use cases, and test reports.
  • Execute testing and support users with user acceptance testing, including technical and functional tests.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and make formal presentations.
  • Develop training materials, user manuals, and reports.
  • Prepare documentation including requirements, analysis, design, and specification documents.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and propose modifications to existing applications.
  • Identify and mitigate security risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst with team lead responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and change management principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Visio.
  • Knowledge of software and database design principles and procedures.
  • Understanding of how hardware, software, and networks work together in a computer system.
  • Ability to write procedures and document business processes.
  • Familiarity with federal government standards and guidelines.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies.
