About the position

This is a full-time remote role for a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst at First Home Mortgage Corporation. The position is designed for individuals who are eager to engage in data analysis and contribute to the decision-making processes within the company. As a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing data, creating data models, and developing dashboards that will aid in the visualization and interpretation of data. You will utilize various business intelligence tools to support these tasks and ensure that the data-driven insights are effectively communicated to stakeholders. In this role, you will serve as a crucial liaison between our branches and corporate employees, ensuring that data flows seamlessly and accurately between different departments. Your responsibilities will include making updates to loan files to ensure data accuracy, maintaining data sources used in reporting, and managing user security aspects of our reporting system. You will also be tasked with maintaining integrations, add-ins, and plug-ins that facilitate the syncing of data between software applications. Additionally, you will assist in training internal staff by communicating new functionalities and producing data in various formats as needed. You will manage the intranet software (Simpplr) and assist with project planning, development tracking, and documentation building. As you grow in this role, you will train to serve as a backup to the Business Intelligence Analyst on all tasks, ensuring continuity and support within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data to support decision-making processes.
  • Create data models and develop dashboards using business intelligence tools.
  • Assist in making updates to loan files to ensure data accuracy.
  • Update and maintain data sources used in reporting, both from the LOS and custom-built sources.
  • Maintain user security aspects of the reporting system.
  • Manage integrations, add-ins, and plug-ins between software applications.
  • Assist with training internal staff on new functionalities.
  • Produce data in various formats when necessary.
  • Manage intranet software (Simpplr).
  • Assist with project planning, development tracking, and documentation building.
  • Train to serve as backup to the BI Analyst on all tasks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in analytical skills and data modeling.
  • Experience with dashboard development and business intelligence tools.
  • Strong business analysis capabilities.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based storage and data management principles is helpful.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with writing logic-based code for data extraction is helpful.
  • Skills in algebra, statistics, and problem-solving are essential.
  • Ability to write in coding languages such as Transact-SQL, Visual Basic, HTML, and JavaScript is preferred.
