About the position

Brazos Commercial Roofing is seeking a Jr. Commercial Roofing Estimator with at least 2 years of experience in commercial roofing estimating. The role involves accurately estimating costs for commercial roofing projects and preparing comprehensive proposals for clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various roofing materials and systems, and will work closely with the sales team and other stakeholders to ensure clarity and accuracy in estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project needs.
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Utilize industry-specific software and tools to streamline the estimation process.
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, general contractors, and internal team members to ensure clarity and accuracy in estimates.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing for materials and services.
• Attend all pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates and participate in construction meetings.
• Conduct thorough roof inspections and assessments to accurately estimate project costs.
• Build and maintain strong communication with project managers, customers, architects, consultants, and vendors.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a commercial roofing estimator.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, installation, and materials (Coatings, BUR, Modified, TPO, PVC, EPDM, Metal, and Waterproofing).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs.
• Familiarity with CRM practices and ability to build productive business relationships.
• Highly motivated and target-driven with a proven track record in estimating.
• Strong prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the client's needs.
• Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.
• Comfortable getting on the roof to inspect, climb ladders, and work at different heights.
