About the position

CGI Federal is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Computer Systems Analyst to join our team. As a Junior Computer Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in analyzing, designing, and implementing computer systems to meet the needs of our clients. You will work closely with senior analysts and project managers to gather requirements, develop system specifications, and support the implementation and maintenance of computer systems. The Computer Systems Analyst will contribute to the Defense Repair Information Logistics System (DRILS) team by supporting system maintenance, user training, and all data management activities. This position is located in Ogden, Utah, and you will be responsible for consulting with colleagues about their IT needs, researching software technologies to decide if they offer improvements, and helping the management team decide if IT systems and infrastructure upgrades make business sense. You will assist with developing new functionality for existing computer systems, new system installation and setup, and customizing these for business needs. Additionally, you will run tests on systems, train end-users, and update instruction manuals as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting with colleagues about their IT needs.
  • Researching software technologies to decide if they offer improvements.
  • Helping the management team decide if IT systems and infrastructure upgrades make business sense.
  • Assisting with developing new functionality for existing computer systems.
  • Assisting with new system installation and setup and customizing these for business needs.
  • Running tests on systems.
  • Training end-users and updating instruction manuals as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and system analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, databases, and operating systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and tools.
