The Junior Database Administrator (Jr. DBA) position is an entry-level role focused on assisting the Database Administrator in the management of MS SQL databases and servers. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of database systems, which includes tasks related to design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of databases. The Jr. DBA will work closely with the Database Administrator to implement and maintain SQL Server maintenance plans, ensuring optimal performance, security, and backup procedures are in place. In addition to database management, the Jr. DBA will provide HelpDesk support for IT issues within a Microsoft Active Directory Domain environment. This includes monitoring and resolving Tier 1 issues related to SQL integration points, maintaining database backups and transaction logs, and conducting regular database audits to ensure data integrity. The role also involves supporting organizational SQL reporting and data analysis, which is essential for informed decision-making within the company. The Jr. DBA may also be required to perform other assigned duties and must be available for essential duties during emergencies, highlighting the importance of this role in maintaining business continuity.
