About the position

Marsh McLennan is seeking a Junior Full Stack Engineer to join our New York City office. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and supporting high-performance, highly scalable applications using the MEAN/PEAN/MANN stack. You will work with leading agile development practices to develop cloud-based applications utilizing the latest AWS technologies. Your collaboration will extend directly to business partners, Product Owners, and Technical Delivery Managers to create innovative web-based applications that serve as platforms for advanced analysis, tools, and products. As a Junior Full Stack Engineer, you will collaborate with QA engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and assist in resolving any frontend-related issues. You will design end-to-end solutions for the implementation of front-end applications and develop web applications utilizing OSS 2.0, APIGEE, Databricks, AWS, and web services. Delivering highly scalable and performance-driven solutions on time will be a key expectation. You will also understand the development and release cycle, utilizing CI/CD pipelines, and take ownership of unit test cases while addressing vulnerabilities identified by DAST/SAST security testing. In addition, you will analyze the current technology stack, suggest and implement improvements, and identify and solve performance issues using DataDog. Your role will also involve researching and implementing new technologies to increase productivity, reliability, and security of our environments. Knowledge sharing, documentation participation, and mentoring other engineers will be encouraged as part of your professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support high-performance MEAN/PEAN/MANN stack applications.
  • Develop cloud-based applications using Agile development methods and AWS technologies.
  • Collaborate with business partners, Product Owners, and Technical Delivery Managers to develop web-based applications.
  • Work with QA engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage and resolve frontend-related issues.
  • Design end-to-end solutions for front-end applications.
  • Develop web applications utilizing OSS 2.0, APIGEE, Databricks, AWS, and web services.
  • Deliver highly scalable and performance-driven solutions on time.
  • Understand the development and release cycle, utilizing CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in MEAN stack development.
  • 1-2 years experience with a Cloud-based hosting provider, ideally AWS (knowledge of EC2, Lambda, S3, Route53, IAM, Cloudwatch, CloudTrail, Confluent Cloud Kafka, VPC, etc.).
  • Experience using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience developing large, highly available applications at scale.
  • Strong understanding of the development cycle, unit test cases, and vulnerabilities mitigations.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and metrics collection using ELK, Splunk, DataDog, etc.
  • Experience with GitHub and GitActions.
  • In-depth knowledge of security best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with NodeJS, React, and Frontend Application Development.
