About the position

The Jr. Graphic Designer at Athena will be part of the Visual Design Team within the Creative Group, responsible for creating and maintaining graphic assets that align with brand aesthetics and standards. This role focuses on producing compelling graphics for various mediums, including digital and print, to represent a Fortune 30 brand. The position requires proficiency in graphic design tools and a strong attention to detail, with the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design visual components for projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Execute a high volume of well-crafted assets for advertising, social media, event graphics, and collateral.
  • Collaborate with the design team to conceptualize and execute larger campaigns and quick-turn projects.
  • Design and execute motion design assets.
  • Understand and elevate the brand's goals, strategy, and tone of voice.
  • Participate in briefs and reviews, taking feedback to deliver positive results.
  • Communicate openly about timelines, resources, and requirements with the Design Director and Executive Creative Director.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of graphic design and production experience.
  • Strong proficiency in design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, and composition.
  • A robust digital portfolio showcasing diverse design work.
  • Expertise in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Figma.
  • Understanding of pre-press and printing processes.
  • Experience in editorial and layout design, including reports and infographics.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High energy and initiative with exceptional organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Illustration and photography skills are a plus.
